Good news, everyone!

In addition to, or rather complementarily to, my own reading program I will in future be reading and reviewing advance editions (well, sometimes advance and sometimes not so advance) for Pan Macmillan here on Protean Depravity and people, am I excited about this!
The first book batch consists of a colorful potpourri: a space opera about an interspecies war, a fantasy about Malaysian gods, an unconventional reinterpretation of the extramarital-affair trope, an epic fantasy involving a death cult and a thriller about a dangerous underground game - let's see if you can match my descriptions with the titles in the picture, hehe. And finally, and I can feel my blood running faster in my veins at the mention of this, there will be a review of George A. Romero's posthumously published zombie novel, The Living Dead!

So thankful to Pan Macmillan and can't wait to start exploring these books!

Happy Birthday! Protean Depravity is One Year Old!

Folks, I almost missed my blog's first birthday, which was last week! Photo by Angèle Kamp  I can't believe it has been a year already - my lockdown project became a full-  blown blog with lots and lots of books, books, books, author interviews and even one piece of original fiction! I really do hope that you're enjoying the blog as much as I sure do. I am so grateful and thankful for everybody who contributed and for everybody who is reading! Happy birthday to us! Let's celebrate our geekdom and hope for many more years to come!

Straightening Up the TBR and Other Exciting Things

The world keeps on turning and once again the nicer time of the year has arrived; the warm time. At least hopefully, because in this part of the world you never know - Remember last summer? And again, I have been merrily taking and taking review copies of books, and reached the point where they have accumulated to a degree that I'm about to lose track, but haven't quite yet. I am at a point where I need to straighten up the tbr pile - make a priority list so that no important book gets left out, but also make sure my personal goals, group reads, buddy reads and challenges are fulfilled too. It's not easy being a professional book worm, let me tell you.

Of Nuns and Such - Best Religion Horror

With not one but two nunsploitation movies about to be released soon, I have taken the cue that it's time for a blog post of collected nun and religion horror movies that are worth something for all I know. Because there are a lot useless ones, looking at you The Unholy and The Nun .
