The first batch of 2025 movies behind us, now comes the fun part of raising hopes for upcoming horror movies that are in line for this year. There's even a concrete reason I'm posting this right now, because this Saturday is Sneak Preview time at the Creepy Crypt and since I have to stick around in Kreuzberg for hours after work until the Creepy Crypt showings begin, I choose my movies carefully. Well, Sneak Preview means that I have no idea what will be shown, only that it's an upcoming movie, so I took a look at movies that I think might be on this Saturday and I'm going to pitch their trailers here (the titles are linked to the teasers or trailers). So this post will be something like an exciting guesswork for the next Sneak Preview. The German word "Vorfreude" which describes the happiness you feel before something, a "joyful anticipation" according to internet dictionaries, should be a word in every single language on this world for me to express the joy I yearly feel between New Year's Eve and the month of February when all my favorite film festivals and showings takes place. The constellation of those festivals is somewhat different in 2025, with the Fantasy Filmfest White Nights taking place as late as the first weekend of February and the Final Girls Berlin Film Festival even in March! Even with this shift, it's all fine by me, I have been blissfully busy in my joyful anticipation and putting bookmarks on films I want to see and buying tickets where I can.

  For those who aren't very interested in football, here are some cinema/book ideas and plans for the upcoming summer in Berlin!  It's time for open air cinema again! Because that went really well last year... I'm going to try it again, though, there's no giving up and maybe the weather will play along this year. Doesn't look like it yet, but there's always hope. Although some theaters don't even have a summer program yet, some have announced the movies they will be showing, and let's take a look at the attractive ones, old and new.

The Creepy Crypt Saturdays at the Rollberg Kino are on their best way to be my favorite thing in the world. What am I talking about? The Yorck Kino cinema group has a bunch of special showings, like sneak previews, classics, MonGays and one of them is the Creepy Crypt where you can watch a horror movie every Saturday night at the Rollberg Kinos. There is a second horror movie night, Bis(s) zum Abspann which started as a vampire series, but expanded its focus to creatures of the night in general, this takes place once a month in the Odeon in Schöneberg. Whether you want to see an old classic on the big screen or discover the latest pictures, the movies of Creepy Crypt have a wide range, it's a healthy mix of old and new which never gets boring. You can also make a wish, just write them a mail or listen to their podcast in which they discuss the movies we watched.
